Strangers

And all of a sudden, we’re strangers once again.
Back into the crowd of smiling faces of the broken hearts and empty spaces.
I’ve sunk deep enough into the abyss that I’ve reached its end.
Yet, this heart still won’t bend.

Now that we’re strangers again,
Back to nothing, but I’m still hoping.
These spaces between my fingers still longed to lock with yours,
My heart keeps on beating, it does nothing else but roar.

But since we’re strangers again,
Back into time, sending my signals again like a mime.
Heed the red light and stop, check the backdrop.
I’m still here, everything is still clear.
