I never really thought that I’d be spending Valentine’s day differently this year.
I wasn’t expecting anything, in fact, Mac and I had no initial plans about it, but mom took me out last Thursday to get my nails done and my hair re-colored. Apparently she was prepping me up for a date that evening and man, do I look pretty that night. HAHA! Conceited much? 😛
Mac and I decided to just have dinner in our restaurant just so I could lend a hand to my entire family who were working there that night. I did my part well before Mac arrived carrying a pretty bouquet, Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups and his homemade (and priceless) Strawberry Cheesecake with Caramel Kisses and Pistachios.
The dinner didn’t exactly turned out as I imagined it would be, but it was better. Mac and I ate dinner an hour before closing time because of the tremendous amount of customers we had in the last two hours. We had the resto all to ourselves and afterwards we had coffee at the coffee shop across the street. We took the coffee home and decided to just hung out in the veranda.
I really love having him around, regardless of the day, every moment spent with him is Valentine’s day… I know we don’t have a perfect relationship, you may even consider our relationship as a bit tumultuous but our love for each other just doesn’t seem to waver despite of our huge differences in perspective, personality and attitude. Add to that the fact that we’re really trying our best to put Jesus in the center of our relationship, and you know what? That really works for us, and I know it works for everyone who does the same thing. Everything that we would need and want has already been provided for us, sometimes, even without asking.
I just hope Mac would find and strengthen his faith even more, I know he’s willing to do it so I’m guessing he’s going to have a hard time going through it as it always was to everyone who wanted to be a follower and who believes in Him. I guess, the best thing to do is just be there for him.
Here are pictures by the way. 🙂
