Creating a MySQL Database

If you have a Cpanel, whether you own a domain or a subdomain, this tutorial will come in handy in creating a MySQL Database.

1. Sign in to your Cpanel, and scroll down to the “Databases” section and click MySQL® Databases. You will be taken to the MySQL Databases page.

2. On the first form field where it says “Create New Database”, type in your desired database name. It could be anything or any name you like, then click “Create Database” when you have finally decided.

3. Now that you have created your database, you need to create a username and password for it. Scroll down a bit, and you’ll find a section called “MySQL Users”, beneath that is a set of form field. Where it says username, type in your desired username. It can be the same as your database name. Then, where it says password, type in your desired password and make sure that you can easily remember it, you will have to re-type your password; after that click on “Create User”.

4. We’re almost done. Now that you have created your set of username and password, move on to the lower part of the page where it says “Add User To Database”. It’s just below the “MySQL Users” section. You will definitely see two drop-down boxes, where it says user, select the username you have previously created. Then, below that, select the database that you have made as well. Click on “Add”.

5. And that’s it. You have just created your own MySQL Database with its own username and password.
