LICENSED and Rocked Out

board The big news finally came out last Saturday evening, that was November 23. I am now a LICENSED teacher. I couldn’t be more happier and to treat myself, my good friend (and fellow board passer *wink wink*) May and I went to a rock show the following evening in Sucat.

Well, the rock show was actually already a plan even way before the board result came out but knowing that we are licensed professionals made the rock show feel really special.

So anyway, five of the country’s coolest rock bands played. Jejaview started the night with a refreshing sound, it was actually my first time to hear them play but they were really awesome and the band members were really nice and friendly, especially the bassist. (ehem May ehem) haha!

The second band that played was Wilabaliw and if I am not mistaken (and if you don’t know it yet) their bassist is also the bassist of Greyhoundz and their vocalist is from Queso. So yeah, they reek awesomeness! They were followed by Valley of Chrome, the band whom I consider as my teacher in listening to screamo music.

Chicosci came up next and they played longer than the first three bands. Their set was funny and quite hyping but nothing and no one is more hilarious than the guys of Kamikazee who had their first acoustic gig that night. They were amazeballs and comical that even if they were playing longer than they should the crowd still wanted more of them. Oh and yes, we took loads of pictures too! :D

It was another exhilarating experience. I just love being in a rock show, I love hearing the great music reverberating, almost shaking the grounds, I love the playful lights and the crowd who are passionate about the music and the artists.

But nothing feels more exhilarating than knowing that someone is waiting for you to get home after a long night. Le sigh. I hope to be in more rock shows before this year ends…

Short Story #1

It took me nearly three years to start and finish writing a short story and now that I have written it, I couldn’t figure out the right title for it. Which is a bit frustrating, but hey! Achievement unlocked. Here it is, written a couple of weeks back during one of my sleepless nights brought by the pressure of the board exam.

Nota Bene: Haven’t proof read this yet, forgive the laziness. LOL

The both of them sat on the bed silently that only the sound of the rain outside could be heard; he lit a cigarette as she sat next to him, terrified and trembling. He brushed his hair away from his eyes and looked at her calmly; he too was troubled but not as much as she was, perhaps the cigarette helped him calm down but who knows for sure, maybe he’s quite used to be in such situation considering his history with women like her.

“What are we supposed to tell them?” She finally spoke breaking the almost deafeaning silence between them.

He took a deep breath and moved further back in the bed to lean on the headboard. “Nothing. I don’t think we need to tell anybody about this, I mean, we could take care of it ourselves.” He answered.

“I am not so sure about your plan. It’s too risky. I might get into a lot more trouble.” She murmured as he stared blankly at the wall trying to think of another way out.

“Well it’s either that or carry the burden forever.” He blurted out that made her glance at him sharply. She knew it was a mistake, she knew that this would happen, she knows exactly what the outcome would be, yet she still agreed to do it and now here she is, in the same room where they had done it thinking of a way out of the mess they have made.

“But don’t you think it’s better if we give it a chance? I mean, who are we to play God anyway?”

“Listen,” he said as he moved closer to her. “I told you from the very start that I don’t want this kind of responsibility—“

“I am not giving you a responsibility!” She said louder than she had intended to. “I just wanted to let you know… and I just need your help for now. I need a little support. When this is all over you don’t have to worry a thing. I can handle it.”

He reached for her hand and pulled her close for a hug. “But that would ruin your career, perhaps even your entire life if you won’t get rid of it now.” He whispered to her but she shook her head as she pulled away from him.

“Don’t talk about it as if it’s not there. It’s breathing, it can hear you.”

“Let it hear me! Then maybe it would just get rid of itself!” She stood up and walked away from the bed, away from him.

She stood by the window, watching the rain and the empty street.

“We’ve talked about this before.” She said tearfully. He sighed and lit another cigar before he stood up and hugged her from behind.

“It would be alright, you just have to trust me in this one. Okay? Everything is going to be just fine, we’ll just tell your folks that you’re going on a road trip with the gang for a couple of days and they would never know what happened.” He said reassuringly. She turned to face him and she looked him deep in the eyes.

“Will you promise not to leave until it’s all over?” She asked him and he smiled warmly at her.

“Even until it’s over, I’ll stay.” And with that, they hugged but their brief moment of joy was interrupted by a soft movement from under the bed.

They both walked toward it and pulled out a huge black bag. He opened it revealing the head of a middle aged man, struggling to speak through the duct tape that covered his mouth.

“I’m sorry boss, but you deserve this.” She said coldly and dangerously as she pulled out a knife from beneath the blanket. The knife caught the light and without another word, she drove the knife straight into the man’s chest.

He came in to back her up by smashing a lamp on his head and just as she thought that the deed was done, he stood up and pulled something out of the bedside drawer. It was a gun with a silencer and before she knew it the man’s struggling stopped as blood spluttered on the floor.

“Now, it’s gone. Let’s clean up, grab the money and jewels in the safe and leave before it gets dark.” He said and few moments later they were burning the dead man inside the large fireplace in the living room as they cleaned up the blood spluttered bedroom.

The rain has stopped and they left the house with the fireplace still roaring wildly as the cadaver succumbs into the flames.

Yes, this is another comeback post (with a dramatic title) about how much have happened in my offline life since I became idle from the blogosphere. I’ve taken down everything and decided to give this site a fresh new start… it’s another, ironically same old, project from scratch, but what the hell I’m getting rusty-not only in writing my thoughts down but also in basic web design.

I am using a pre-made theme right now (credits at the bottom) but I’ll soon change it with my own work; I’ll work on pages soon, still contemplating whether to put back the tutorial and free themes page but I do have plans on monetizing this site again, just need to borrow someone’s paypal account in a couple of weeks though this domain is about to expire again and I don’t want this to be in a hanging sort of state for a couple more weeks because of delayed payments. LOL

So getting back to business.

I have officially resigned from teaching in a regular school due to extreme tension migraine brought by the lack of sleep, weird eating pattern and STRESS, generally. I have also taken my licensure examination as I resigned from my teaching job and I am now still awaiting results. I’m really hoping to see my name on the passers list, that’s just what I was waiting for actually, it was the only excitement I had for sometime, especially after the final breakup that took place right after the board exam. Yes, in two weeks tops my life took a sort of 360 turn, it wasn’t such a mess. It was hard, but I am just glad that it’s all over now.

Over the past few months, I have fallen out of love, resigned from work, took the board exam, went to a lot of night outs, broke some rules, stayed up all night with a special friend, went to rock concerts, planned a wedding, and fell in love in a flash of a lightening.

Right now, I can say that no matter how chaotic and unplanned my life was in the past months based on the summary of events listed above this paragraph, I have learned a great deal of lessons from people and experiences alike… It was a hell of a roller coaster ride-probably one with a few hoops- but it was a fun ride, a bit nerve wracking but what ride isn’t?

But I am done with the wobbling part after the hell of a ride, I can say that I have established my balance better than before. I am keener and I love deeper now…probably more truthful than before as I have recently met (don’t know if ‘met’ is the right term as I have known his existence since I was a kid) the person whom I am ready to take chances with and, as if God has seen something good in my deeds, He made our parents take a very special interest in helping us connect and build a relationship.

It was blissful, it was prompt. But that’s the thing-it will never take you long to realize you truly love a person. Love doesn’t need to be deliberated, if you are still thinking of whether you love a person or not you don’t, although you will learn to, eventually. Because when love is real, you know it pretty quickly and with absolute certainty… That was what happened to me recently.

I always thought that love was something that has to be learned and to be given but it wasn’t. It is something you do not expect to feel yet you are willing to share it together. I know it’s too early for me to say these things but they’re true.

So that’s the mushy part but that is exactly where I am at this moment.

God has a great plan ahead, I know and I am willing to follow.
